Application Pending? Check your status online at Chase.com/Customer-Center/Check my app status or by calling 1-888-609-7805 or 1-888-338-2586. Sometimes, all they need is a quick verification.

Thinking About 2 Cards? If you get approved for one Chase card, try applying for a second on the same day. If your first application is still pending, wait for it to be approved before applying for another.

Application Declined? You have 30 days to request reconsideration by calling 1-888-609-7805. If you call the same day you applied, there won’t be another hard credit check. Keep in mind, if it's due to the Chase 5/24 rule, they likely won’t reconsider.

Approval Rules: Chase typically declines if you’ve opened 5 new credit cards in the last 24 months. They usually approve up to 2 Chase cards within 30 days, counting business and personal cards separately. Read more about the Chase 5/24 rule and how to review your report.

Application Inquires Inquiries for all personal or all business cards on the same day are combined, but personal and business inquiries aren’t mixed.

Welcome Offer Eligibility: Chase might not approve you if you’ve already gotten a welcome bonus on the Chase Ink Cash card for the same business in the last 24 months. But if you do get approved, you’ll still get the bonus. You can still get approved and receive the bonus even if you’ve had a bonus from other Chase Ink cards (like Ink Preferred, Ink Premier, or Ink Unlimited) within 24 months. You can also apply for the same card for a different business, even with the same owner, and get the bonus within 24 months.

Downgrade Options

The Chase United Quest card can be downgraded to the Chase United Gateway ($0). Just remember, you can only do this after the card has been open for 12 months.

Getting your card

Rescore your report: To update your balance off-cycle, call 1-888-682-8361. If you pay your balance to zero, Chase will automatically update your report within 48 hours.

When applying for a new credit card, keep your balances below 10% of your limit on each existing card. Pay down balances and wait for each card's closing date, avoiding new charges. Some banks let you update balances anytime by phone, and Chase will automatically report a $0 balance after payment.
