Business Platinum®
The American Express Business Platinum Card® is a charge card that offers the flexibility to spend without a preset limit, adapting to your business needs. It comes with impressive benefits, like a 150,000 Membership Rewards® points welcome offer, higher points on travel and key business purchases, and over $1,000 in annual credits for select services. You’ll also enjoy perks like a $200 airline fee credit, access to over 1,400 airport lounges worldwide, and a $199 credit for CLEAR® Plus membership. These features make the $695 annual fee well worth it for businesses that can take full advantage. Terms apply.
Application Pending? Check your status online at AmericanExpress.com/Application-Status or by calling 1-800-567-1083. Sometimes, all they need is a quick verification.
Application Declined? If your Amex application was declined, you can ask for reconsideration within 30 days without a new credit check, or up to 90 days with a new one. When you call, you can ask to move credit from another Amex card or close an old card to get the new one. If they need a tax return, send what you have—it doesn't need to match your stated income. A bank statement might work too.
Approval Rules: American Express follows a maximum of 2 card approvals within 90 days, known as the 2/90 Rule. You can hold up to 5 credit cards, excluding No Preset Spending Limit cards, with a limit of 10 such cards. Additionally, you are allowed one Platinum variant every 90 days.
The The Business Platinum Card® From American Express can be downgraded to the American Express® Business Gold Card ($375) or to the American Express® Green Card ($95). Please note, it is not recommended to downgrade an Amex card before 12 months of account opening.
When applying for a new credit card, keep your balances below 10% of your limit on each existing card. Pay down balances and wait for each card's closing date, avoiding new charges. Some banks let you update balances anytime by phone, and Chase will automatically report a $0 balance after payment.
The following are your options for redeeming Amex Points for cashback:
- Use points for a statement credit at 0.6 cents per point (very poor value)
- If you have The American Express Platinum Card for Schwab ($695) you can use your points to transfer to your Chares Schwab account at 1.1 cents per point
- If you have The Business Platinum Card from American Express ($695) you can transfer your points to your Amex Business checking account at 1 cent per point
- If you have the Morgan Stanley Amex Platinum ($695) you can deposit your points to your Morgan Stanley account at 1 cent per point

Considerations
The American Express Business Platinum® card offers great benefits for business owners, but here are some downsides to consider:
- High Annual Fee: $695 per year, which can be expensive for small businesses.
- No Intro APR: No introductory APR for purchases or balance transfers.
- Requires Good Credit: Not suitable for businesses with lower credit scores.
- Limited Redemption Options: Cashback is less valuable compared to travel rewards.
- Complex Benefits: Many perks, but they can be hard to fully understand and use.
- High Spending Required: Need to spend a lot to get the most benefits.
- Travel Focused: Best perks are travel-related, so not as useful if you don’t travel often.
Think about these points to see if this card matches your business needs and spending habits.
